The story/scenario is written by Kanari Youzaburou, who is known for his work on the manga Kindaichi Case Files. The theme song is composed and performed by Sakai Yu.
Set in 1888, a Japanese young man named Fuwa Takuma arrived at London for a certain reason. Early in his trip, he got lost in the slums and had his baggage stolen. He was helped by Elena who arranged for him to meet the famous Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock lets Takuma use his spare home and in return, Takuma helps him with his cases.
CHARACTERS
Fuwa Takuma (CV: Furuya Tohru)
A Japanese young man who can read people's hearts with keen insight. A certain incident led him to become an assistant of Sherlock Holmes. His all-seeing eyes can illuminate the darkness of the hearts of humans and reveal the truth beyond the mist. He seemed to have come to London for a certain purpose... (PV)
Elena Kensit (CV: Hayami Saori)
A busybody who can't leave a person in need. Her innocence and carefree smile often soften the hearts of people around her. However, she is too honest with her emotions, that it completely shows in her face and voice what she is thinking. (PV)
Sherlock Holmes (CV: Matsuoka Yoshitsugu)
The most famous detective in London, he studies crimes not just from a deductive point of view but from a scientific approach, too. His words are always thought-provoking and accurate. He is Takuma's benefactor who saw the good in him and made a place for him in London. He loves dogs and is lovestruck with Takuma's dog Kotetsu. (PV)
Christopher Charles Grobley (CV: Umehara Yuuichirou)
An aristocrat who teaches in a prestigious university. He is always full of confidence in his speech and demeanor. With both good looks and a brilliant mind, it's rumored that female fans flock in front of his mansion gate. However, he has high pride and hates to lose, so he considers Takuma, who is recognized by Holmes, as his rival. (PV)
Isabel Pulling (CV: Ugaki Misato)
A captivating journalist with grown-up charms. An unfortunate past led her to work as a journalist, and she calls her job her life-long vocation. With her cleverness and energy, she gets scoop after scoop, and would sometimes even use her charms in order to collect information. (PV)
Abberline (CV: Kirimoto Takuya)
A stubborn veteran police inspector of the London Police. He has an overflowing sense of justice, but because of that passion, he often makes mistakes during investigation. Unlike Holmes, he doesn't like dogs, so he can't get along with Kotetsu. (PV)
Kotetsu
Takuma's only friend and irreplaceable family member. Like a puppy, he runs around in curiosity, which often leads to unlocking the truth of a case. He is loved by everyone, except Abberline.
Chelsea Evans (CV: Tanaka Minami)
A lively girl who helps her parents with their pub. Selfish and impertinent, she sometimes annoys the adults around her, but she is forgiven easily. She is a girl with mysterious charms. (PV)
Edward Philips (CV: Saito Soma)
A skillful doctor who is bad at dealing with people. He was formerly a "hired foreigner" and taught medicine. He is sensitive and cannot get used to living in an unfamiliar country, and is dependent on the kindness of people.
Watson (CV: Maeno Tomoaki)
A doctor who is Holmes' former assistant in investigations. Before, he lived with Holmes in Baker St. 221B and helped the detective in a number of difficult cases. They were acknowledged to be a great pair, but his position at the moment was turned over to Takuma.
PREMISE
The game revolves around a main story which involves Takuma helping Holmes solve different crimes in London and investigating the identity of Jack the Ripper. The story will also lead to Takuma's reason for coming to London--to search for someone.
While the main story proceeds like a visual novel, you need to complete hidden object games in order to move forward. The hidden object game is simple: look for the items listed below the screen within the time limit. However, the difficulty goes up as the story progresses.
You can use various items or employ the help of certain characters to clear fog and rain from the screen or add time to your clock.
Other things to do:
- Read Takuma's diary and his interaction with other characters
- Unlock the characters' memories
- Do free quests to earn materials to increase characters' levels or make furniture
- Decorate your mansion with furniture you earn from doing quests
- Earning materials and items to help with the hidden object game through login/CM bonuses
